Dear All,

You will have noted from the media that we are instructed by The House of Bishops to suspend, until further notice, public services of worship at St. James’ church.

This applies to every parish in the Church of England and means that the Eucharist will not be offered on Wednesdays or Sundays, for the time being.

Regrettably, both  the church building and parish centre are now closed.

The Rev. Brian Prothero.

Welcome to the website of St James’, the parish church in Weybridge.  You may be browsing here for a lot of different reasons.  Perhaps you want to know about services or church groups, or to get up to date with church news.  Maybe you want to hire our parish centre.  You might want a wedding, baptism or funeral.  Or you might be seeking someone to talk to about something that concerns you.  Whatever it is, we hope you will find what you are looking for.

This is our new website and it will take a while to get it fully up and running so bear with us while we get it finished. You can find out more about what makes us tick here

Right now, sadly, the church and parish centre are temporarily closed.  You can stay in touch with us via our newsletter, which you subscribe to here.  We also have a Facebook page on which we are posting thought for the day and prayer for the day videos and sharing news and conversation which is here.

The Rector is Brian Prothero. He or his colleagues would be delighted to hear from you if you’d like to know more.  You can find contact details here and a list of some of the St James’ team here (links not yet active, sorry)

Anyone required to organise a funeral, please be assured of a listening ear, sympathy and how to proceed in these unusual times of challenge. Please contact the Rector, Brian Prothero via the Parish Office or on Tel 01932 856399

From Monday 6th April Runnymede Foodbank are working with Runnymede Borough Council and will be moving to a home delivery service until the Covid-19 civic emergency is over. The Foodbank will NOT be open at the church till further notice.

Our Vision

  • to offer worship of high quality to God whose love is recognised in the person of Jesus Christ
  • to help all who come into contact with the Church to find something of God
  • to offer a secure and non-threatening context in which to grow

We are

  • rooted in the Sacrament of the Eucharist, where bread and wine show the presence of Jesus Christ in the world
  • caring for each other as best we can without intruding
  • aware of our own shortcomings and long for more company
